wish + past perfect (Regrets)
Geçmişteki bir olay hakkında pişmanlık duyduğumuzda wish + past perfect (had + p.p.) kullanırız.
- I wish I had studied harder. (Ama çalışmadım.)
- He wishes he hadn't said that.
- if only ile daha yoğun pişmanlık: If only we had left earlier!
Bu yapı üçüncü tip koşulun 'keşke' hâlidir: geçmişi değiştiremeyiz, sadece pişmanlık belirtiriz.
