Fronting
Fronting (öne çekme), normalde cümlenin sonunda ya da ortasında bulunan bir öğeyi vurgu için başa taşımaktır. Devrikten (inversion) farkı: özne–fiil sırası genellikle değişmez.
- Nesne öne: This book I really enjoyed.
- Tümleç öne: Tired I may have been, but I kept going.
- Yer/hâl öne: Down the street they ran.
Yer belirteci öne çekildiğinde ve fiil hareket ya da konum bildirdiğinde, isim özneyle tam devrik olabilir: Down the street came a parade.
Fronting metne edebî, çarpıcı ya da odaklayıcı bir ton katar.
