Emphatic do
Olumlu bir cümleyi vurgulamak için ana fiilin önüne do / does / did eklenir; ana fiil yalın kalır.
- I do like it! (Gerçekten beğeniyorum!)
- She does work hard. (Cidden çok çalışıyor.)
- We did warn you. (Seni uyarmıştık — gerçekten.)
Kullanım amaçları: bir itirazı çürütmek, karşıtlık kurmak (I don't sing, but I do dance) veya rica/emri güçlendirmek (Do sit down!). did kullanıldığında ana fiil geçmişte olsa bile yalın kalır: did go, did see.
