Substitution: so / do / one
Substitution, tekrar yerine kısa bir 'yer tutucu' koymaktır.
- so (bir cümlenin yerine): Is it raining? — I think so. / I'm afraid so.
- do / do so (fiil öbeği yerine): He promised to help and he did.
- not (olumsuz cümle yerine): Will they come? — I hope not.
- one / ones (sayılabilir isim yerine): I'll take the red one, not the blue ones.
Ellipsis öğeyi tamamen atarken, substitution onun yerine so/do/one gibi bir sözcük koyar.
