Past Ability: could / was able to
Geçmiş yetenek anlatırken could ile was/were able to çoğu zaman aynıdır ama tek bir başarıda fark ortaya çıkar.

- Genel: When I was young, I could run fast.
- Tek başarı: The fire started, but everyone was able to escape. (❌ could escape)
- Olumsuzda ikisi de olur: I couldn't / wasn't able to open the door.
- Algı fiilleri (see, hear, smell) istisnadır; tek olayda da could kullanılır: We could see the sea from our room.
