Mandative Subjunctive

İngilizcede ise şahıs ne olursa olsun yalın fiil kalır (he be, she not leave) — normal cümledeki -s ve zaman uyumu askıya alınır. Bu, İngilizcenin nadir görülen subjunctive kalıntılarından biridir.

Q: Mandative Subjunctive örnek cümleler nelerdir?

The board insisted that the report be published in full. (Yönetim kurulu raporun tam olarak yayımlanmasında ısrar etti.) It is imperative that every applicant submit the form on time. (Her başvuranın formu zamanında teslim etmesi şarttır.) We recommend that he not be told until Monday.

Fiiller: insist, demand, suggest, recommend, request, propose, require
Sıfatlar: it is essential / vital / imperative / crucial that ...

Özellikler:

Üçüncü tekil şahısta bile -s almaz: He insists that she be on time.
Olumsuzda yardımcı fiil yoktur: We demand that he not leave.
Zaman bakımından değişmez: geçmişte de yalın biçim kalır.

Britanya İngilizcesinde sık sık should ile de kurulur: ...that she should be on time.
