Cleft Sentences — Advanced Variations
Temel it-cleft ve wh-cleft’in ötesinde, C2’de bilgiyi öne çıkarmak için daha esnek kalıplar kullanılır.
- all-cleft: All (that) I want is a bit of peace. (Vurgu: tek istediğim...)
- the thing / the one thing: The thing that worries me is the cost.
- the reason / the place / the way: The reason (why) they left is still unclear.
- Sonda vurgu için tersine wh-cleft: A quiet weekend is what I need.
Bu yapılar odaklanan öğeyi cümlenin başına ya da sonuna taşıyarak ton ve karşıtlık ("başkası değil, tam da bu") yaratır. Hem konuşmada hem yazıda çokça görülür.
